Child Survival Health Grants Program Grantee World Vision – Innovation grantee (2008-2013): The Better Health for Afghan Mothers and Children Project in Karukh, Zindajan, Ghoriyan, Kohsan, and Chest-i-Sherif districts is contributing to sustained improvements in child survival and maternal/child health outcomes by increasing access, quality and equity of community and facility-based health services for improved maternal, newborn, child health status.

17 October 2012 The MCHIP PVO/NGO Support Team is proud to announce the publication of "Summary of Rapid CATCH Indicators from Child Survival and Health Grants Program (CSHGP) Projects Ending in October 2011," a report highlighting changes in knowledge, practice and coverage (KPC) among mothers of children under two measured through small-sample household surveys. These KPC surveys were conducted at the beginning and end of four or five-year projects funded by USAID's CSHGP.

Country Overview Child Survival Health Grants Program Grantees Concern Worldwide – Innovation grantee (2009-2014): The Lahiya Yara Children's Health Project in Tahoua and Illela Districts is strengthening the health care system at the facility level and investing in intensive community-level activities to promote sustained behavior change by establishing Care Groups of Mother Leaders (MLs) in 50 communities.

Country Overview Africa Champions Program MCHIP initiated an activity to develop advocates for the achievement of targets for MDGs 4 and 5 in 10 key African countries. The process is being implemented over the course of 18-24 months (2011-2013) by MCHIP in collaboration with USAID/Africa Bureau, WHO/AFRO, and the West African Health Organization (WAHO). Benin is one of the participating countries, along with South Sudan, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia.
Through the work of the Neonatal Alliance, MCHIP provides technical assistance as needed to University Research Co./USAID Healthcare Improvement Project bilaterals for the implementation of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) and Helping Babies Breathe. MCHIP also provides technical assistance to the regional KMC Community of Practice, which was created in December of 2011. Related Links:
