The World Health Organization’s 29 November 2011 issue of “Global Immunization News” highlights Malawi’s recent introduction of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine 13 (PCV13) into the country's routine immunization program.    MCHIP provided technical support in the preparation of the vaccine’s introduction, including conducting the initial readiness assessment and training health professionals. Malawi’s launch of the PCV13 introduction was integrated with the mass distribution of anti-malaria bed nets.
