In Malawi, approximately 80% of a population of 13 million resides in rural communities. The majority of these Malawians seek medical care in health centers yet limited human and material resources contributes to delays in providing the comprehensive and quality care needed. With an overall goal of improving the quality of reproductive health services, the MCHIP team sought to ensure that comprehensive, integrated services could be provided and strengthened according to national standards of care, using infection prevention as a national priority.
