The MCHIP/India immunization team recently concluded a cross-learning visit at one of the demonstration sites developed with MCHIP support.

The Program provided technical assistance to the health department of the district of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, India to develop a demonstration site at the Community Health Centre Cholapur. The site was created to serve as a cross-learning center for program managers and functionaries from other health facilities of the same and adjoining districts. MCHIP staff provide supportive supervision to staff at the site, and share knowledge about optimal utilization of available resources and implementation of locally feasible solutions to address gaps.

During the May 10th visit, MCHIP staff facilitated an orientation and demonstration sessions for 25 participants, including cold chain handlers, management information systems staff, and representatives from partner organizations. The visit helped to motivate participants and to enhance their knowledge, and attendees agreed to implement their newly acquired practices in their respective health facilities.
